Baltimore, my world

We are working on an anti-violence campaign for an after school program in Chicago.  I would love to share your videos with the students, as they can definitely relate to them.  I was also wondering if you have the lyrics for some of your songs.  I think it may strengthen the message if the students have the lyrics to understand and sing with if they choose.  Thanks!

-- Stephanie, IL

Good luck with your project and here are links to the lyrics:

Our thoughts and prayers are with Aysha's family, friends and coworkers. Stop the violence.

-- Better My World

Hope all is well! I'm getting alot of good videos off of your website for my class project. Like I said, the project is about ads that promote hip-hop culture in a positive way. Anyway, I'm very grateful to see young people use hip hop to better our lifestyle! I was wondering if there is anything I can do to help this cause?

Keep spreading the word--STOP the violence.

Thanks for all you do!

This is a really great movement. I think we need more of it.

For this reason, I wanted to let you know that we’re featuring your story on our 72 broadcast news stations across the country. To view the story, you can click here.

I sincerely hope the vibe will catch on.

In my opinion it's the adults that set the tone for our communities. Our young people are looking towards the adults for guidance, trust, understanding and peace. I would like to see more men in the community standup and demonstrate what is right. I would like to see more men become responsible for their children, grandchildren, etc. I see old men buying drugs from young boys. The image is all Wrong!! Wrong!! Wrong!!

Great Video and I'm glad I ha a chance to be a part of the great works. The violence on Baltimore is getting heavy and I think that this message is a clear answer to the problem.

Great site! The Evergreen Music family is proud to be associated with this noble cause. Our cities are a proving ground for violence and it's destroying the dreams and aspirations of our youths. Hopefully, the contents of this site and the overall Stop The Violence campaign will help turn around this insidious, urban disease.

THIS IS AWESOME !!!!!!!! YOU NEED TO GET IT INTO EVERY ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL IN BALTIMORE CITY. THE KIDS HAVE A MESSAGE AND THE BEST WAY TO COMMUNICATE IT IS THROUGH A POSITIVE, YOUNG RAP ARTIST!!!!!! GREAT JOB CONTINUE THE GOOD WORK.

I Try

Life isn't easy, so I try to understand
But sometimes it's just to hard when there is no helping hand.
I try to close my eyes so I can re-imagine
But it's just no use cause the same things happen.

I don't want to give my hopes up (because I hate that feeling)
And once I have someone, they wind up leaving.
I don't want to give up, but it seems there's no choice
So I try to go to church and get a little "rejoice."

I try to hold back my feeings, so I won't get angry anymore,
Cause once I get the upset, you're bound to get a thunderstorm--
Black thick clouds, gusty winds and pouring rains,
And once I see you cry I won't care about your pain.

No one ever cared about mine, so why care about theirs?
I was all alone, upset and scared,
So I wait and wait, not knowing what to do,
And I began to pray, not only for me but for you.
